In addition to her performing career, Katherine is a proud educator. At the collegiate level, she has served as an adjunct professor at American University, and a guest lecturer at Princeton University, specializing in musical theatre voice. She believes strongly in character driven approach to musical interpretation, and demands a high level of musicianship from her students. In addition to repertoire and performance, Katherine’s students are expected to excel at ear training, sight reading and music theory. She encourages students to explore a wide range of genres including classical and pop/rock in additional to musical theatre, as a form of cross training the voice to gain greater knowledge, control and versatility. Katherine values student’s individual needs, and works to build self-awareness, confidence and a skill set that can be carried through a lifetime of singing.
